John J. McKeever
 CRMA, CCSA, CQA, CFE, CPC, CBC

John McKeever is the President of Contemporary Business Concepts, LLC.  In addition, he has served as an Operations Manager, Consultant, Instructor, and member of the audit staff of AT&T.  During his 15 years in the audit department at AT&T, he conducted and led a wide range of audits and consulting projects.  These included numerous audits and projects of finance, operations, and information technology processes.

John has trained and advised thousands of auditors and managers while in private practice, at the AT&T School of Business, and The Institute of Internal Auditors.  John has developed and delivered a number of business programs that include, Consulting: A Value Added Services, The Tools and Techniques That Make It Work, COSO: The Steps To Success, and Help Your Client Succeed with Control Self-Assessment.

John is well-known as the author of the McKeever CCSA Study System that has sold over 1500 copies in over 80 countries.  Click for details.

John frequently speaks at public seminars, professional associations, state and federal agencies, and corporations.  His work has included developing and delivering risk and control management programs specifically focused for the needs of Senior Executives, Boards of Directors, and Audit Committees. 

For his achievements as a seminar leader, The Institute of Internal Auditors has awarded John the designation of Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Member.

John has degrees in Business Administration and Management from Northeastern University, a Masters of Science Degree in Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a graduate Certificate in Total Quality Management from the University of Phoenix. He is an American Society for Quality Certified Quality Auditor, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Business Manager, and a Certified Professional Consultant.

The Certificate in Risk Management Assurance® (CRMA®) is a specialty certification program offered by The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA).  It is designed for all Risk Management Professionals – not only internal auditors.  Gaining the required knowledge of areas such as risk and control models - often considered the realm of auditors only - exposes Risk Management Professionals from all backgrounds to the concepts that are vital in effectively managing risk and helping clients achieve their objectives. 

The CRMA credential was created by the IIA to highlight the both excellent opportunities and the serious challenges for internal audit to assist organizational government to adequately organizational risk to within risk tolerances.

At the end of this module, the participant will:

•    understand about the IIA CRMA Exam

•    understand about McKeever CRMA Study System

•    learn how to Study for the CRMA Exam

•    be more comfortable addressing the CRMA Exam questions


Domain I: Organizations and Organizational Culture (over 50 pages of useful information including 16 sample questions with answers)

The objective of this module is to better prepare the participant to pass the Certification in Risk Management Assurance Exam by discussing and analyzing the technical dimensions of this domain while discussing techniques to best manage multiple-choice questions. 

At the end of this module, the participant will better understand about CRMA and:

•    Assessing risk management processes in the context of alignment with strategic imperatives

•    Assessing the processes related to the elements of the internal environment in which organizations seek to manage risks and achieve objectives

•    Assessing the processes related to the elements of the external environment in which organizations seek to manage risks and achieve objectives


Domain II: Principles of risk management processes (over 90 pages of useful information including 37 sample questions with answers)

The objective of this module is to better prepare the participant to pass the Certification in Risk Management Assurance Exam by discussing and analyzing the technical dimensions of this domain while discussing techniques to best manage multiple-choice questions. 

At the end of this module, the participant will understand about risk management and:

•    Benchmarking risk management processes using authoritative guidance

•    Setting objectives at all levels to achieve strategic initiatives

•    Identifying risks

•    Performing risk analysis and evaluation including correlation, inter-dependencies, and prioritization

•    Evaluating risk response (e.g., avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept), including cost/benefit analysis

•    Developing and implementing risk mitigation plans

•    Monitoring risk mitigation plans and emerging risks

•    Reporting risk management processes and risks, including risk mitigation plans and emerging risks

•    Periodically reviewing risk management processes to aid in continuous improvement


Domain III: Assurance role of the Internal Auditor (IA) (over 40 pages of useful information including 17 sample questions with answers)

The objective of this module is to better prepare the participant to pass the Certification in Risk Management Assurance Exam by discussing and analyzing the technical dimensions of this domain while discussing techniques to best manage multiple-choice questions.  

At the end of this module, the participant will understand about CSA and:

•    Reviewing the management of key risks

•    Evaluating the reporting of key risks

•    Providing assurance that risks are adequately evaluated

•    Providing assurance on risk management processes


Domain IV: Consulting role of the Internal Auditor (IA) (over 40 pages of useful information including 14 sample questions with answers)

The objective of this module is to better prepare the participant to pass the Certification in Risk Management Assurance Exam by discussing and analyzing the technical dimensions of this domain while discussing techniques to best manage multiple-choice questions.   

At the end of this module, the participant will understand about risk management and:

•    Coaching management in responding to risks

•    Coordinating risk management activities

The workbook and CD-ROM versions are used as you would a book - one user at a time.
